At last after a long time a real post.

Some religious people think that there religion should not be criticised. A good example is the calls for the murder of cartoonists who dared to make a cartoon criticising Islam. But its not just Muslims, there are Christens who think there religious beliefs should not be criticised under the guise of respecting there religion (I don’t have to respect your religion, I have to respect your right to your beliefs but I do not have to respect those beliefs). And to these people I’d like to say.

Nothings sacred! Everything is up for criticism including your beliefs and mine. Just cause you believe something strongly doesn’t make it exempt.
And stop being hypocrites! If your religion is exempt from criticism than so is every other religion so you can’t criticise other religions while saying your is exempt.

If you don’t wont your beliefs criticised don’t make them public.

Criticism is the cornerstone of true progress, it is through criticism that we expose problems, it is through criticism that we can see our views from a different persecutive. It is through criticism that we find out what we are right and wrong about.
Criticism is a integral part of science, the proses of peer review is a proses where scientists look for any problem, any error in another scientists hypothesise, predictions, studies and or experiments. It is through criticism that scientists refine or even disprove there theories.
It is through criticism that we get closer to the understanding, closer to truth.

If your beliefs are true, they would not only stand up too criticism, they would thrive in it, criticism would validate your beliefs and if its wrong then it would show it to be wrong.
If your beliefs are true, why do you so fear criticism?
