This man took an “alternative medicine” called Colloidal Silver and it turned him blue.
The people promoting this “medicine” claim it can cure anything (you know, the basic “alternative medicine” claims), of course its all bull shit. While I am not aware of any dangers in taking this (except maybe passable kindly damage and of course blue skin or gray skin) people who take this are likely to take other alternative or complementary medicines some of which are dangerous, almost none work and almost none has been tested.
Real medicine with all its flaws is far safer than alternative medicine, real medicine goes through allot of rigorous double blind testing and while the testing doesn’t catch every thing (it would require decades of testing to do that) it is far safer than alternative and complementary medicine which has gone through very little to no testing. But because of the way the laws are in many country’s the alternative and complementary medicine can claim pretty much anything.
If for some reason you absolutely want to use complementary medicine, stay away from grandiose claims, if they claim it can cure anything, stay away, if they claim it has no side effects, stay away, if it claims to work by some mystical energy, stay away, if its homeopathy, don’t waist your money its just water. If its Colloidal Silver, don’t become a Smurf, stay away.
